Introduction

Card template is a feature which allows you to create cards based on the one model card. You can define default card features and other details for new cards created using this template.

Don’t start from scratch every time. KanBo's card template is a powerful tool designed with customization and flexibility in mind. It will help your team share actionable knowledge, so you can benefit from the experiences of others. 

Card templates come in handy when you need to create complex cards of similar predefined structures, subtasks or documents. Collaborate with others while building your perfect card template!

Did you know that you can use an existing card for a template?

Create a new card out of template

There are only two clicks more between usual card creating and using a template. 

1. Press + button at a list.

2. Choose a template and enter a name.

3. Press on Add to confirm.

Wait a few seconds. All template card elements will be added to the new card. Some of them need more time to appear.

Set the Template field to None if you don't want to use any card template.

Set the card template as default

Useful when most of cards you want to create will be based on one template. 

Set default card template for the Board.

Apply a card template to an existing card

In case you have an existing card but you would like to add there a structure from the card template.

1. Enter a card and select three dots.

2. Select Apply template.

3. Choose a template and press on Apply to confirm.
