Card icons and sections

Card consists of the following sections:
- Card information,
- Card menu,
- Card stream,
- Card elements.


Card information


KanBo Home button will redirect you to your KanBo Home.

Board stays for the Board in which card is located. Click on it to switch to Board view.


List indicates a list where card is currently located. Click on it to change the list for a card.


Card’s title stays for the card’s name. Click on it to change the title.

Card menu


Card menu consists of the following icons which indicate actions.

Find

Enter this section to look for a card, document, SharePoint document, user by using a keyword. You can limit search scope to this board or uncheck to search in entire KanBo.
 

Documents


Use this button to enter Documents section where all documents from this board are collected. In this section you can also add and manage documents.
 
Explanations of buttons in this section:

A new folder can be added by using + New folder button.

Upload button serves for uploading new documents to a Board.

Refresh button reload the documents.

Find section allows you to search for document by file name.

While you hover over any document, you will see the “more” button on the right side.
 


Now you can use the following actions:
- Attach this document to card,
- Open in browser,
- Download,
- References,
- Delete.
 

Relations


In this section you can see relations added to a card or you can add new ones by using +Add button. 
Number will indicate how many relations are added to this card. 

While you click on the +Add button you can choose to add any relation:
- Parent,
- Previous,
- Next,
- Child.

Move card


This button opens you a section where you can move a card to another board.

Copy card

This button allows you to copy a card. You can choose a new name for a copied card which will be created in the same list as the original card.


Archive card


This section allows you to send this card to archive.

Delete card

This button allows you to delete a card permanently.

 
Follow


This section allows you to follow a card. Once you follow it, you will receive notifications about every action in this card including document updates.

Card stream


Every KanBo Card has its own stream with all activities. You will see here all messages added by users and information about their activities related to the card. In the card’s stream, it is also possible to add comments to a card in the “Enter your message here…” field. You can use the “@”followed by the name of the user you want to inform about the comment you are writing – she/he will get a notification about it even if she/he is not following the card. You can only mention people that have access to the board.

There are three detail levels for the card's stream:


Everything. In this mode in card’s stream you will find information about i.e.:

• creation of this Card
• copying this Card from the other one
• converting this Card from a task from another Card
• adding users to a Card
• making a user responsible or a co-worker
• adding and changing a Card status
• adding a Document to a Card (if the added document is an image, it's thumbnail will be shown in the stream)
• removing a Document from a Card
• archiving this Card
• sending this Card back from the Archive
• adding and removing subcards.

• adding and removing relations to other cards
• adding or changing an element to a Card (Note, Subcard group, Todo list, Document group)
• removing an element from a Card (Note, Todo list, Subcard group, Document group)
• adding or changing a Due date, Start date, Custom date or Personal reminder
• removing a Due date, Start date, Custom date or Personal reminder
• adding and removing a todo list
• marking and unmarking a todo item as complete
To see exact dates of Activities, please hover your cursor over a KanBo date (i.e. 7 days ago, 1 month ago, 1 year ago) and you will see the exact date and hour of every action.

Relevant: At this level you will see a mix of most relevant card activities (adding a member, moving card through lists etc.) including comments (default).

Comments: At this level the user will only see comments and no other activities.

 

Card elements


You can add 4 elements to a KanBo card:
- Notes,
- Todo lists,
- Subcard groups
- Document groups.


You can change positions of every KanBo element by using Drag&Drop. You can also collapse element groups to have a better overview (i.e. while changing positions of element groups).

Add new element

This button allows you to add elements to a card.
Now you can choose if you wish to add a Note, Todo list, Subcard group or Document group.

Remove element
 Any of those elements can be deleted by using more (three dots) button which allows you to remove this element.

Collapse element

You can collapse any of these groups by using the following button. You will see statistics on the element’s header while it is collapsed. After that action, you can expand them. 

Document group
This functionality allows you to create groups for all documents added to a card.

 

Todo list
To do list allows you to add checklist to a card and mark completed todo items.

 
You can add new todo items by using +Add item button.  


Todo list is equipped with a progress bar which shows you the progress of completing todo items.


Once you hover over any todo item, you will see more (three dots button). Use it to see more options.

 
Now you can convert this todo item into a standalone card or a sub card. You can remove it from here as well.

 

Note
Note allows you to create a note in a card and add important information here which should not disappear from your eyes view like comments that scroll down with the time.


 

Subcard group
Sub card group allows you to create a group for sub cards. You can give these groups meaningful names i. e. “HR Deliverables”

You can add a new sub card to a sub card group by using +Add subcard button. 

Hover over a sub card, so a more button will appear (three dots). Click on it to see more options.

 
Now you can detach your sub card from this card then it becomes a standalone card.
