I have run into a problem with setting the “TargetTenantSite” at point 5 of the setup instructions.

The script should be performed on the SharePoint server and the value provided for the $targetTenantSite variable should be the URL of an existing site collection on which you plan to install KanBo. The certificate itself should be created on the KanBo Server and then copied to the machine were you need to run the script.
